The incumbent supervises the delivery of corporate software
support services by ensuring adequate coverage to respond to user
enquiries regarding the use of corporate software, establishing service
levels; devising and applying key performance indicators and assessing
corporate software support services on a regular basis as part of a
continuous improvement process.
S/he develops short and long-term training strategies based
on user requirements, divisional priorities, and the planned
introduction of new technologies to ensure optimal use of technologies
(software and hardware) and research resources (databases and
collections); ensures the implementation of the strategy and the ongoing
assessment of the training program. S/he researches and
introduces innovative mechanisms to deliver training to users at HO and
in the ROs, ensuring that they are appropriate to user requirements, and
cost-effective.; writes or coordinates the preparation of training
material, and reviews material prepared by other divisional staff or
business owners before its dissemination. S/he delivers
one-on-one and group training sessions, and information sessions to
broad audiences, on site or via web conferencing, to HQ and RO staff
members.
The Supervisor selects external trainers, manages contracts,
approves training schedules and supervises the design and delivery of
training sessions.
